me

I began working with clay in early 2025, and fell in love with it so quickly that within a few months I was spending as many hours a week at the studio as I could. I try to experiment with each piece. It’s thrilling.

I also love playing with other art forms, including collage and photography. My next hobby goal is to make mosaics with broken pottery.

I live and make my work in Brooklyn, sometimes alongside my husband, who likes to imitate ancient pottery techniques and styles.

my process

I often begin with simple ideas I have during my walk to the studio. Sometimes I’ll start with only a technique in mind. While working, I pay close attention to the clay and try to push each piece to its limit.

Nature is my primary source of inspiration, and, as someone living and working in a big city, the intersection of human ingenuity and the natural world often finds its way into my work.

I also get inspiration from learning about the history of clay, other people’s creativity, surprising color combinations, and memories
